My City
Where creativity meets community.
What is My City?
My City is an ongoing photo walk series that celebrates San Antonio’s vibrant neighborhoods, parks, and public spaces—through the eyes of the creatives who know and love them best.
Each edition features a local photographer who leads a walk through their favorite part of the city. They’ll guide attendees through the location, share their creative process, and teach a specific photography technique or style that defines their work. From candid street photography to architectural shots or golden-hour portraits, My City offers hands-on learning in the real-world settings that inspire it.
This is more than just a photowalk—it’s a creative experience rooted in connection, local pride, and the art of seeing San Antonio in a new light.
Purpose
My City is designed to:
Strengthen creative connections by bringing photographers, models, and artists together in an inspiring and inclusive environment.
Celebrate local spaces by spotlighting the parks, streets, and neighborhoods that hold meaning to San Antonio’s creative community.
Encourage on-the-go learning through peer-led sessions that focus on photography techniques in real-world environments.
Support local business by ending each session with an optional meet-up at a nearby café, bar, or restaurant.
How It Works
Neighborhood-Focused: Each session takes place in a location chosen by the featured photographer—places they personally connect with and creatively draw from.
Technique-Based: The photographer will teach a hands-on technique (such as bracketing, light tracking, symmetry, motion blur, etc.) tailored to that location.
Open to All Levels: Whether you’re a beginner or pro, this is a welcoming space to shoot, learn, and grow.
Portrait-Friendly: Models are encouraged to attend and collaborate with photographers—civic pride meets creative expression.
Post-Walk Meet-Up: After the walk, the group heads to a nearby local spot to keep the conversations going, support small business, and continue building relationships.
